Reliable, fast THC saliva test designed by a French manufacturer. The Drugdiag® Saliva THC saliva test is a cannabis screening device intended for individuals, professionals, companies, and prevention stakeholders. It allows reliable, fast, and precise detection of Δ9-THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), the main psychoactive substance present in cannabis.

Certified CE, compliant with ISO 13485 standard, and designed by a French manufacturer, this cannabis saliva test offers over 99% reliability with correlation to the reference method GC/MS. Thanks to a simple, non-invasive, and hygienic procedure, it provides a clear result in 3 to 5 minutes.

With its detection threshold of 15 ng/mL, it is a solution particularly suited for self-checking before driving, cannabis screening in the workplace, road safety prevention, and all situations requiring vigilance, safety, and responsiveness. This THC saliva test quickly indicates if Δ9-THC remains detectable in saliva.

Reliable cannabis saliva test – French manufacturer – results in 5 minutes – CE certified and compliant with ISO 13485 standard.

Main uses of the cannabis saliva test

Road safety and pre-driving check

The cannabis saliva test allows for self-checking before driving. Article L235-1 of the Highway Code prohibits driving after using narcotics. In case of a positive test for Δ9-THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), penalties may include point deductions, fines, license suspension, and other legal consequences. This test is a useful prevention tool to check for residual Δ9-THC presence before getting behind the wheel.

Workplace screening

In accordance with Article L.4121-1 of the Labor Code, the employer must take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of workers. This cannabis saliva test can be integrated into a prevention approach for high-risk positions when the company's internal framework allows it.

Personal use and individual prevention

The Drugdiag® Saliva THC test allows quick and confidential verification before driving, traveling, a professional appointment, or any activity requiring attention and responsiveness. It is a reliable, easy-to-use, and quick-to-interpret cannabis self-test.

Advantages of the Drugdiag® Saliva THC test

  • Simple and hygienic use: non-invasive saliva sampling
  • Ideal for self-check: before driving, before work, or for individual prevention

Cannabis saliva test and roadside check

The cannabis saliva test is the reference method for quickly detecting the presence of cannabis during roadside checks. It allows rapid detection of Δ9-THC in saliva.

The Drugdiag® test operates on the same saliva screening principles for cannabis as the devices used in roadside checks, with quick reading, high reliability, and an appropriate detection threshold.

THC saliva test for police: although intended for preventive use, this test is an ideal self-check solution before driving to verify the presence of Δ9-THC in saliva.

Detected substance and detection threshold

The Drugdiag® Saliva THC test is specifically calibrated to detect the presence of Δ9-THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) in saliva, the main psychoactive substance in cannabis.

  • Cannabis flowers: marijuana, weed
  • Resin: hashish, pollen
  • Concentrates: oils, wax, rosin, e-liquids containing cannabis
  • Food products: preparations containing cannabis
  • CBD products: only in case of residual presence of Δ9-THC
Detected substance Detection threshold
Δ9-THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) 15 ng/mL

This saliva test detects Δ9-THC present in cannabis. It is not a urine test looking for a metabolite like THC-COOH.

Beware of CBD

This test does not detect pure CBD. It reacts to the presence of Δ9-THC, the main psychoactive substance in cannabis targeted in saliva tests.

Warning: some CBD-based products may contain residual traces of Δ9-THC. In cases of repeated consumption or insufficiently purified products, these traces can lead to a positive result.

This positive result can have significant consequences during roadside checks, internal company controls, or situations requiring immediate verification.

Detection time of cannabis in saliva

The detection time of cannabis in saliva varies depending on consumption frequency, amount consumed, metabolic profile, and type of product used.

Substance Average detection time after consumption
Δ9-THC (cannabis) 6 to 8 hours for occasional use, up to 24 hours for regular use, and sometimes longer for intensive use

These durations are indicative. They vary depending on the individual, consumption method, cannabis concentration, usage frequency, and other physiological factors.

Technical expertise and analytical specificity

Colloidal gold technology

The device uses colloidal gold technology allowing a clear and rapid reading of the result. This technology helps improve the accuracy of the cannabis saliva test and limits unwanted interferences.

Reliability correlated with the GC/MS method

The Drugdiag® Saliva THC test offers reliability greater than 99%, with correlation to the reference laboratory analytical method: gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS).

Quality and safety compliance

This cannabis saliva test is CE certified and designed in a quality environment compliant with the ISO 13485 standard, the international reference for quality management of medical devices.

Test specificity

The test is designed to detect Δ9-THC in saliva with high specificity. It aims to reduce the risk of misinterpretation when used according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Road Homicide & Law 2025: The Urgency of Prevention

Since July 2025, French legislation has changed. The creation of the offense of Road Homicide criminalizes bodily injury or fatal accidents with penalties of up to 10 years in prison.

Beware of the critical 9 POINTS threshold: The new law penalizes the combination of Alcohol + Drugs with an automatic deduction of 9 points. For a young driver, this means immediate license cancellation.

Toda Pharma’s response: Our tests are not just accessories. They are measurement tools calibrated to the legal threshold of 15 ng/mL (2016 Decree), allowing you to verify your actual negativity before getting behind the wheel and risking your legal future.

French manufacturing and medical quality

Toda Pharma, a French manufacturer of drug screening tests, was one of the first European laboratories to develop a rapid serological test for coronavirus detection as early as February 2020 and was validated by the National Reference Center (CNR), the Pasteur Institute, and the French Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

A study was conducted in 3 hospitals by different operators on 3 separate batches of each drug at concentrations of 0ng/ml, +/- 25%, and +/- 50% of the detection threshold for the drug in question. All results met expectations. The detailed tables of all results are available to users upon request.

Expert FAQ: Prevention & Risks

How long does THC remain detectable in saliva?

The detection time of THC in saliva varies depending on your habits. For an occasional smoker, expect 6 to 8 hours. For a regular user, it can last 24 hours or even several days. Buying a saliva test is the only way to know exactly how long it takes your body to eliminate the substance before driving.

Can CBD cause a positive saliva test?

Yes, it is a major risk. Legal CBD in France contains traces of THC (up to 0.3%). Frequent consumption accumulates these residues. During a police or gendarmerie check, this level can exceed the legal limit and cause your saliva test to be positive. Preventive self-testing is strongly recommended.

Is it exactly the same test as the police and the gendarmerie?

Absolutely. Our Drugdiag tests rigorously use the same detection threshold (15 ng/mL) as those set by the decree of December 13, 2016. These are the same thresholds used by law enforcement during roadside checks. They offer professional reliability certified to ISO 13485.

Are HHC, THCP, and other derivatives detected?

Yes. Screening devices cross-react with new synthetic molecules (HHC, H4CBD, THCP) because their structure is very close to classic cannabis. Driving under the influence of these derivatives exposes you to the same criminal penalties, especially since the tightening of the law on Road Homicide.

What to do if you have a positive saliva test at home?

If your self-test is positive, you are not fit to drive. Do not get behind the wheel to avoid losing 6 points and having your license suspended. Wait a few hours, stay hydrated, and take another test to confirm that you are below the legal limit again.
