Understanding the detected drug families
K2, K3, and K4: the synthetic cannabinoids
The K2, K3, and K4 families include synthetic cannabinoids often sold as cannabis, fake CBD, Spice, Black Mamba, or Buddha Blue. They mimic some effects of THC, but their potency and chemical composition are often much more unstable.
2-MMC, 3-MMC, 4-MMC, and mephedrone: the cathinones
2-MMC, 3-MMC, 4-MMC, and mephedrone belong to the family of synthetic cathinones. These stimulants are sometimes sold under names like meow meow or M-CAT, and can cause agitation, tachycardia, anxiety, disinhibition, or risky behaviors.
MDPV and xylazine: two very different risks
MDPV is a powerful synthetic stimulant often associated with bath salts, while xylazine is a veterinary sedative known as tranq or tranq dope. Their effects are very different, but their presence always indicates a high level of risk.

Why is a standard THC test not enough?
